Don't Ever Forget!

Scripture:

"I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life." Psalm 119:93 (NIV)

Discussion:

This should be the determination of every Christian couple. As it relates to the precepts of God, every couple should make the commitment, "We will NEVER forget."

How do we forget? When faced with everyday situations, we forget the precepts of the Lord when we decide to succumb to the pressures and ways of the world. Remember the ways of the Lord in everything you do. When interacting with your spouse, your every word and your every deed should conform to the standard of Christ.

What is God's reward to those who do not forget His precepts? In this passage of Scripture, David reveals one tremendous reward. The Lord shall preserve your life-this includes your marriage. With all of the forces that surround us threatening to destroy our relationships, our kind Heavenly Father has given us His divine plan for preserving our marriages.

We preserve the quality of our relationships not by competing with one another, manipulating one another or trying to control one another. On the contrary, our relationships are preserved by adopting God's ways (which are rooted in godly love and peace) in all that we do.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for your Word and the assurance that it gives us. We make the commitment to never forget your precepts for by them you have preserved our lives and our relationship. In Jesus' name. Amen"
